Ben Webster

There is little doubt Mark di Suvero is among America's most admired and celebrated sculptors. Created at monumental scale, di Suvero’s work is found in the most important public and private collections in the United States and Europe. Closely associated with the aesthetics of Abstract Expressionism, his is a vocabulary of industrial materials carefully conjoined. Music, poetry and literature are important touchstones for di Suvero, who pays homage to legendary jazz saxophonist Ben Webster. The artist specifically sited this work at the entrance to Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

Meijer Gardens also owns a model of this piece.
